Festival of the modern theater "October Revolution" Automatic translate
From October 24 to October 27, the October Revolution festival will be held in Moskvich, one of the largest theater events of the season. The name for the Festival was not chosen by chance: these days in the space of Moskvich there will be a revolution in art, a real revolution! For the first time in the history of Moscow, a fashionable cultural event, which will present the whole spectrum of the independent Moscow theater stage, will take place outside the Garden Ring in the usual sleeping area “Tekstilshchiki”.
Within the framework of the “coup”, 11 performances will be shown, 4 of which are premieres, and one in the work-in-progress format. In parallel with the main program, there will be a retrospective screening of the Open Stage video performances. Each of the four days of the festival will be dedicated to one of the activities of the "Open Stage": theatrical experiment, drama, musical and plastic, as well as children’s theater.
“Open Stage” and “Moskvich” came together to present the best independent theater projects to the public in a wide range: from chamber performances for children to experimental productions of young directors of a new wave. The festival’s poster includes Oleg Glushkov, Yuri Muravitsky, Sasha Denisova, Vyacheslav Ignatov, Arseny Epelbaum, Kirill Vytoptov, Philip Vinogradov, Yuri Alesin, Alexey Razmakhov. The presence of such eminent guests as Kirill Serebrennikov, Mikhail Ugarov is also expected.
Performances in a wide variety of genres and interactive performances involve 6 Moskvich venues with a capacity of 50 to 1,000 people during the festival, turning it into a real theater “multiplex”. And the choreographer and curator Konstantin Grouss will assemble a team of contemporary artists who will present the festival’s art program and transform the space of the Moskvich’s audience lobby.

October 24: Day of theatrical experiment. Festival opening
The festival will open with the premiere of the performance “Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka. Canceled "from the directors of the workshop of Dmitry Krymov - a recognized master of eccentric theater with its own aesthetics. This theatrical action, least of all resembling a retelling of a text familiar from the school, is filled with theatrical and artistic associations, irony and grotesque, and “no one knows” what the performance ends with.
On the evening of the same day, the premiere of the performance by the director Vyacheslav Ignatov and choreographer Denis Boroditsky “Parts of the Body”, in which ethereal shadows and real people exist on an equal footing, and stories come out of old shabby suitcases like ghosts.
October 25: Drama Theater Day
The second day of the festival will begin with a performance from the Fiery People Theater, an independent creative group working in the genre of street performance and representing the world tradition of street theater in Russia. On the evening of the same day, a Work-in-progress performance by Kirill Vytoptopov “Waiting for Godot” based on the play by Samuel Beckett will take place. Before the start of the play, the authors will hold a “Friendly Discussion”, where viewers will be able to see for themselves the process of creating the play - from the director’s intention to the stage implementation - and also get a chance to become co-authors of Kirill Vytoptopov and Nana Abrashitova. Also on October 25 will be a screening of the sensational production of the Theater.doc “Light My Fire”, which is a study of the life of rock idols Jim Morrison, Janice Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. The performance is a winner of the Golden Mask Award in the Experiment nomination.
October 26: Day of Musical and Plastic Theater
On that day, the Paper Theater performance and the choreographer Oleg Glushkov’s plastic performance Aurora based on Tikamatsu Mondzaemon’s Suicide of the Lovers on the Island of Heavenly Networks performance will take place. October 27: Theater Day for Children and Youth
On the last day of the festival, wonderful children’s performances will be shown: “Gingerbread Man” directed by Ruslan Wolfson, “Elephant Concert” Yuri Alesin and “The Man Who Made Snow” by Arseny Epelbaum. Also, the audience will see the original premiere of Arseny Epelbaum - the interactive theater and educational project "The Theater of the Theater Spectator", where in the form of a visualized theatrical lecture, the actors will demonstrate different types and genres of theater to children.
