According to scientists, by the end of the 21st century, more than half of living organisms will disappear from the face of the Earth. Experts believe that we are currently experiencing the sixth most extinct species in history. The fifth led to the extinction of the dinosaurs. This era is called the "Anthropocene" or "Human Era", because, apparently, man is the main cause and victim of huge losses.
The guest of the Festival will be - curator and founder of the Art & Science laboratory - Daria Parkhomenko. In total, more than 500 participants are expected to be at the Festival, including special guests: Alexander Panchin - Russian biologist, popularizer of science, scientific journalist and writer; Louis Biedemont - an independent filmmaker; Vladimir Marin is a Russian director and geologist.
In addition to film screenings, the Festival program includes popular science lectures by famous Russian scientists, science shows for children and professional meetings of scientists and filmmakers.
The winner will be announced at the closing ceremony of the Festival on October 15 at 13:30 in SSU.
