Farida Shagimardanovna Khasyanova - leading artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, member of the Union of Artists of Russia, People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, laureate of the State Prize named after Baki Urmanche, who made a huge contribution to the development of art of the republic as a whole and the development of book art in particular.
Farida Khasyanova was born in 1952 in Kazan. After graduating from the Kazan Art School, she worked as a fashion designer in the Kazan Model House, as a designer and interior designer at the Tatarstan Art Fund, as an art editor, and then as chief designer of Tatknigoizdat, chief artist of Idel magazine.
For more than forty years, F. Sh. Khasyanov has been one of the most active and sought-after graphic artists of Tatarstan. Thanks to her activity as an artist collaborating with the best publishing houses of Kazan, the art of books in Tatarstan has risen to a new height. More than sixty books have been drawn up by Farida Shagimardanova, each of which is a harmonious ensemble, in which all the details are thought out: cover, bookend, font, format. The illustrations of F. Sh. Khasyanova are always carefully designed, technically and compositionally impeccable, distinguished by grace, virtuosity of the picture and subtle coloristic relationships. They organically united the best traditions of book miniatures of the East and West. The opening exhibition will feature illustrations for Tatar folk tales, the creation of which required the artist to do a lot of research, painstaking study of Tatar life, and national costume.
An interesting and significant page in the work of Farida Khasyanova is easel graphics and painting, a favorite genre in which a still life has become for her. In compositions of various vegetables, flowers, ceramics and Kazan towels (“Kazan sulges”), she expresses her attitude to the world, admiration for the works of the hands of her ancestors, who created the Bulgarian jug or an exquisite, unusually sophisticated pattern of embroidery on a towel.
Farida Shagimardanovna Khasyanova’s jubilee exhibition, which opens on March 14 at the Khazine, will feature paintings and drawings, including, for the first time, large-format sheets of easel graphics from the Tukaya Childhood series (Kirlay and Hay Bazaar) and Everything on ear. "
The exhibition runs through April 15, 2018.
