From November 17 to December 10, the All-Russian Museum of Decorative, Applied and Folk Art, as part of the exhibition cycle “Born of October”, will host the exhibition “Porcelain Revolution. Dream of a New World. Soviet porcelain from the collection of VMDPNI. " The exhibition includes the best examples of a vast and diverse museum collection, traditionally called propaganda china.
Time frame of the exhibition “Porcelain Revolution. Dream of a New World. Soviet porcelain from the collection of VMDPNI ”covers the first twenty years of the Soviet state from 1917 to 1937. The exposition presents the most significant works of propaganda themes of leading artists and sculptors of the State Porcelain Factory of the 1920s – first half of the 1930s, as well as the works of masters of the Dulevsky and Dmitrovsky Porcelain Factories, the Tver Porcelain and Faience Factory named after M. I. Kalinin and other productions.
The exhibition will feature porcelain items with scenes dedicated to the celebration of May 1 and November 7, anniversary dates, congresses of Soviets, portraits of famous figures of the revolution, such artists as Rudolf Wilde, Mikhail Adamovich, Zinaida Kobyletskaya, Maria Lebedeva, Vasily Timorev, Alexandra Shchekatikhina -Pototskaya.
The porcelain plastic of the famous artist Natalya Danko is incredibly diverse and expressive. The audience will see an extensive gallery of vivid images, from the usual street scenes to the new characters born of October - “Partisan” and “Policeman”, “Sailor with a banner”, “Worker speaking speech” and others.
Following the call "Art for Production!", Many artists of various genres and styles are collaborating with art laboratories: painters, graphic artists, sculptors, architects who worked on propaganda posters, theater productions and street decoration of revolutionary festivals. As a result of this cooperation, a whole trend in porcelain production was created - propaganda porcelain.
