This is a historical and philosophical comedy of the famous contemporary French playwright Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt from the life of the great French philosopher and enlightener, founder and chief editor of the French encyclopedia Denis Didro. The philosopher poses for the portrait of the charming artist Mademoiselle Terbusch. At the same time, they talk about the vicissitudes of love. Their dialogue is interrupted by Secretary Didro. The philosopher must urgently write an article on morality for the French encyclopedia. But to do this is not easy. Any attempt to engage in urgent business is interrupted by the appearing women - lovers, jealous, crying, requiring immediate attention to themselves. But Mr. Diderot does not look like a victim at all. Otherwise, he would not have been a great philosopher.
The playwright Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt is the author of 17 plays, as well as novels and short stories. He was awarded five prestigious prizes. Among them are the Moliere Prize and the Theater Academy Prize of France. He is a Ph.D. The theme of his dissertation is “Didro and Metaphysics”. His plays are staged in 30 countries. The story of the life of Didro "Libertin" - in our version of the "Encyclopedia" - is filmed in France. Since 2008, the play has been playing in Russia at the Moscow Drama Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. His other plays were staged in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan and other Russian cities.
Tickets are sold at the box office at 55, Revolution Ave., from 10 to 20.
