Eclecticism in music and “sounding canvases” on the dome of the Cathedral: spectators applauded “Belcanto” at a 5000 concert Automatic translate
The ovation ended with the 5000th anniversary concert of the Belcanto Charity Fund for the Promotion of the Development of Musical Culture on April 20 in the Moscow Cathedral of Peter and Paul. A grandiose musical infographic show was able to see almost 2000 guests of the anniversary evening.
The program was preceded by an incendiary performance of the City Pipes Piper Orchestra. On the steps of the Cathedral of Peter and Paul, the musicians in checkered kilts performed several Irish and Scottish folk melodies.
The 5000 concert was included in the series “Sounding Canvases”, in the spring of 2017 covering the 10 best venues in Moscow. Viewers got acquainted with the project, including in the State Kremlin Palace, the Cathedral Chamber, and the Pushkin Museum.
The program "Chagall and Aivazovsky", created specifically for the anniversary evening, was composed in the performing tradition of "Belcanto" and included works by world classics. The paintings of prominent marine painter and avant-garde artist came to life on the dome of the Cathedral of Peter and Paul to the sounds of duduk, organ and saxophone. But the crystal soprano of the laureate of international competitions and the art director of the Belkanto Foundation Tatyana Lanskoy completely captivated the audience. The trio “Belkanto” (Armenian duduk, organ, saxophone), Belkanto Orchestra, as well as the organ duet of Ivan Tsarev and Anna Nikulina performed works by Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Piazzolla and Morricone. Sand animation of Lilia Chistina and water animation of the ebru of Anna Klykovskaya flashed with bright colors on the dome of the Cathedral.
“Now the Fund counts how many thousands of people are musical groups and soloists, as well as directly organizing concerts. Initially, of course, everyone has their own specifics, but we are constantly developing and trying new things. For example, the Patriarchal Choir of the Danilovsky Monastery initially participated in the concert “Organ and Duduk,” but now they are also preparing soundtracks. The Patriarchal Choir performing music from Pirates of the Caribbean is a sight to behold. Each of our programs is an experiment. But one about which the viewer speaks with enthusiasm, ”said Tatyana Lanskaya, artistic director of the foundation.
The Belkanto Foundation is the largest philharmonic organization in Moscow. More than 50 concert venues of the capital and about 5000 artists collaborate with him. Spectators from 3 to 90 years old come to Belcanto concerts, and each program collects a full house.
“In 2017, we begin to give concerts in St. Petersburg, we will do an open-air project in Moscow - and this is for us for the first time, we will soon introduce a project in the style of“ Game of Thrones ”- almost hipster. We always strive to target our target audience and present to it what will definitely be interesting, ”said Mikhail Mikhailov, President of the Belkanto Foundation.
