The Ostankino Palace is a true gem of 18th-century Russian art, where the theater room with a stage, an auditorium, and make-up rooms, architecture, sculpture, painting, graphics and decorative art are in unity. The palace was built according to the plan and order of Count Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetev - one of the most distinguished and wealthy people of his time. Sheremetev was passionate about the theater, had a magnificent troupe of serf actors, so the theater with a unique theater machinery became the heart of the summer residence. Construction continued from 1792 to 1795, although the first projects date back to 1790, and the final finish to 1799.
