Duduk of Jivan Gasparyan, organ and Celtic harp sounded under the arches of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in Moscow Automatic translate
A concert of an extraordinary trio of instruments - duduk, organ and Celtic harp, organized by the Belcanto Foundation for the Promotion of Musical Culture, was held in Moscow.
The lead voice of the extraordinary concert was the duduk in the hands of the young musician Jivan Gasparyan. Jivan is the grandson of the genius Jivan Gasparyan, an ally and follower of the mission of the great grandfather. The voice of his duduk is beautiful and sublime, his musical intentions are high, and his artistic temperament is breathtaking.
“This was my second meeting with the Belcanto Foundation. In the previous concert, I performed with Jivan Sr. and then I was surprised by the duduk ensemble with organ and saxophone. This combination turned out to be very productive - new colors appeared, unexpected tones. This time, in addition to the organ, a Celtic harp sounded. For me, this was also a revelation. Our time is a time of ideas. He who is able to open new paths, he wins. A non-standard view of the familiar, in general, is characteristic of the Belcanto Foundation. Actively performing around the world, I rarely see such creative creativity. Perhaps even… for the first time, ” Jivan Gasparyan shared after the concert.
Under the arches of the ancient Evangelical Lutheran Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, the works of Western European composers, Armenian folk melodies, Irish and Scottish traditional music, jazz variations on duduk were sounded.
“In the timbre of the duduk mysticism is hidden. Otherwise, how can one explain the power of its impact on the listener? Duduk speaks like a man and, at the same time, he is divine… This amazing property, in general, is characteristic of legendary instruments. Here, for example, is a Celtic harp. A paradoxical instrument - the melodies are simple, the sound is not too diverse… but it is impossible to break away. As if the wave captures and carries somewhere. Or an organ. Well, here - everything is so clear. Two thousand years of history. In practice, the same age as European civilization. And so the desire arose to combine these legendary instruments in one concert. Moreover, the stars were so formed that we had the opportunity to do it with the best possible performers, ”explained Tatyana Lanskaya, artistic director of the Belkanto musical culture development assistance fund.
The evening program was complemented by a unique play by Alizbar & Ann`Sannat musicians. Harper virtuoso Elizbar in a creative tandem with double bass Andrei Samoilov and percussion Anna Baturova plunged the listener into the unusual atmosphere of ethnic music with echoes of classical, neo-folk and soul.
