Black Lake of Dreams - the first personal exhibition of Diana Kapizova. A trilogy project, where the artistic narrative is built according to the laws of the modern myth system, with its high adaptation to the visual material of the current moment, a mixture of the present, future, past, personal and public. The artist was born in Yeltsin Russia in the hot year of 1993, in the city of Pervouralsk. In the very place where the obelisk is still located, separating the European part of the continent from Asia. Diana Kapizova is the result of a tense, but romantic relationship between native culture and a giant planetary monster called globalization.
Before us is the indivisible unity of the worlds: imaginary and real, united this time not only by the main character, a demonstration of her media competence, but also by the orthodox theme of the fragility of earthly happiness, its ephemerality.
Diana belongs to the last generation, which remembers the anthropological appearance of the Russians, the birth of a hero of a new cultural type. The newly-minted cosmopolitans, who all suffered trauma of the Soviet experience, they touched Western civilization through the knowledge of “their morals”, alternating round-the-clock television broadcasting about life there with desperate and fearless dives into the bottomless bowels of the Internet in search of a Russian idea. At first, due to her age, Diana assimilated all surrounding reality unconsciously, then she gained conscious experience, learned sensory orientation in a variety of visual signs of the time. The absence of any prohibitions, a persistent and uniform mental tan, obtained under the scorching rays of media reality, fluctuations from high to trash culture, balancing between dream and doom are the elements that make up the fantastic, inexplicable and disturbing worlds of the artist Diana Kapizova.
Black Lake of Dreams consists of three video works and objects. The artistic method of Diana Kapizova is based on the interpretation of the experience of memories, fiction and visions. The Black Lake of Dreams is a sad place, in its invisibility and silence it is especially beautiful, where they come when it’s all too late and there is nowhere else to go.

Trilogy:
1. Crystal tears fell into the water
Geese swans
They steal your youth.
Don’t go to that water
Don’t talk about love
If you can’t execute my command
And drop your tear
The boat will land
He will drag you behind him.
2. A ray of beauty
Stand by the mirror
catch your reflection
get outside,
sing a song that you sang in childhood
remember the beautiful world that you dreamed about.
3. Depressor anguli oris
Look at me
You say don’t be sad
Where is the happiness?
Depressor anguli oris - the anatomical name of the muscles that lower the corners of the mouth (muscles of sadness).
