On the same day, in the large hall of the Royal Hague Conservatory for students of this educational institution, the Prime Ministers of the State Academic Mariinsky Theater, the winner of prestigious international competitions and prizes - Vladimir Shklyarov - gave a master class in the art of ballet, the program of which included: the basic elements of the exercise at the machine tool and in the middle of the class, a technique for learning dance options and sketches. The lesson was opened by the head of the dance department of the Royal Conservatory Jan Linkens, welcoming guests from the Cultural Capital and wishing participants new knowledge and an interesting lesson.
In the evening, at the Entree Theater at the Hofplein School of Art for guests and residents of Rotterdam, the St. Petersburg Children’s Theater Studio Theater-Class presented the play "Children’s Greetings from St. Petersburg" - touching stories about the interweaving of adult and children’s feelings, about the transience of time. Not a dance or a pantomime - this is a plastic story conveyed by the emotions of young actors. As a storyline - an assortment of children’s stories about happiness, first love, the city, the world of childhood, discoveries and the meaning of life. Everything that our memory holds is familiar to everyone sitting in the hall, because all this comes from childhood.
The festival ended with a vivid show "Dolls and Clowns" - a circus performance in puppets of the St. Petersburg State Puppet Theater named after E. S. Demmen, which was held in the Russian center "Matryoshka". The performance in one action consisted of individual numbers using all kinds of tricks and effects with elements of parody, absurdity, lyrics, a side view of human capabilities, hobbies and entertainment. Children and adults instantly joined this game, not hiding either laughter or tears, and for a long time did not let the actors go, calling them "for an encore."
Throughout the Festival, in the foyer of the De Doelen Concert Hall, an exhibition of children’s drawings by students from the best art schools of the Cultural Capital “Petersburg through the eyes of the child” was held. At the exhibition, dedicated to the types of natural landscapes and the historical and cultural architectural heritage of St. Petersburg, 20 drawings were presented, made in different styles, genres and techniques (watercolor, gouache, engraving, pastel, mixed media, gel pen, tempera), united “ reasoning ”about his hometown: quiet streets, courtyards, gardens, parks, fountains, canals, bridges, cozy houses, architectural masterpieces and a peculiar symbol of St. Petersburg - white nights.
The international festival "Children’s Petersburg" has undoubtedly become a bright event in the cultural life of the Netherlands and once again showed the importance of children’s creativity and creativity aimed at a young audience, proving the relevance and interest in this field of art.
