February 13, Sergey Andriyaka’s Watercolor School invites everyone to the Open Day. The program includes a meeting with the teaching staff, master classes, trial lessons, excursions, a lecture and a quiz.
In the very center of Moscow is a beautiful old mansion built in 1889 by architect M.K. Geppener for a Lutheran orphanage. At the end of the 20th century, the building was reconstructed and transferred by decision of the Moscow Government to the Sergey Andriyaka School of Watercolor.
The artistic director of the School, S. N. Andriyaka, developed a unique methodology for teaching watercolor art for children and adults, which consists in the fact that the artist-teacher works simultaneously with the students on the same plot. Together they go through all the stages - from a pencil sketch to the finished work. A personal example is the most convincing and short learning path. This technique allows you to teach a person to paint in watercolor, regardless of his initial talent.
The curriculum is designed for five years. The school studies drawing and watercolor, etching, porcelain and ceramic painting, monumental painting in the interior, and the history of fine art.
Next to the Master, a creative team of talented artists, experienced teachers who are well versed in the academic technique of watercolor painting and willing to generously share their knowledge with students works at the School. Each of them is an independent, actively working artist, a participant in many exhibitions, various creative programs in Russia and abroad. The artistic director of the School is constantly engaged with teachers, revealing to them the secrets of watercolor craftsmanship.
In the halls of the Museum and Exhibition Complex, exhibitions of masterpieces of graphics and watercolors of the 17th – 19th centuries from collections of leading museums of Russia, exhibitions of contemporary artists, including artists of the School of Watercolor, are held.
February 13, 2016 Sergey Andriyaka’s watercolor school holds an Open Day. Everyone who came for the holiday will fall into the magical “kingdom”, where landscapes and still lifes, portraits and interiors are made using light, airy watercolor painting penetrated by sunlight. At trial lessons, they will turn into real artists and, under the strict guidance of a professional, they will write the first, perhaps, watercolor in their life. With their own eyes they will see how a work of art is born: artists will hold master classes for the audience. On a tour of the School, they will get acquainted with the works of the People’s Artist of Russia S. N. Andriyaka, teachers and students of the School. Learn what you need to be able to study at the School of Watercolor. They will also take part in the quiz “Do you know the masterpieces of world fine art?” And listen to the lecture “Female image in art from antiquity to the present day.” In addition, they will have a unique opportunity to visit the exhibition “The attraction of realism. Contemporary Artists ”, which at this time takes place in the halls of the interchangeable collections of the School’s Museum and Exhibition Complex.
Open Day at the School of Watercolor will be held February 13, 2015 from 11.00 to 17.00.
