Alpert Gallery represents a unique artist belonging to the generation of the sixties. Vitaliy Wolf is a painter, poster artist, master of applied graphics and book illustration. His contribution to each of these arts is significant, but the general public knows the author primarily from his posters for theater and cinema. One of the artist’s first works - a poster for the tour of the French mime Marcel Marceau in 1966 - has long been considered a classic and represents the poster art of the USSR at international exhibitions.
For half a century of active work, the author has created several hundred works. The artist’s works are not only in the poster collections of Russian film companies and famous theaters, but also in the collections of major museums and libraries, as well as in private collections in Russia and abroad.
In addition to posters, the Alpert Gallery will feature more than 30 works created by the master in pictorial and graphic techniques. The author’s interpretation of antiquity will occupy a special place in the exposition - a decorative series of works on the theme of ancient Greek myths.
At 84, the artist is full of energy, professional enthusiasm and an enviable sense of humor. The name of the exhibition - "Antiquarium" - was invented by the author himself.
The exhibition runs until November 14, 2017.
Opening of the exhibition - November 4, 2017, 16-00. Entrance by invitation.
