Fairy tales and cradles in illustrative language: a freelance artist will present graphic sheets in which feelings of peace and comfort, adventure and youth are dressed in static scenes, as if descended from children’s books.
As part of the exhibition "Lullaby of a Faun", a young artist Anna Barabanova presents works in the technique of multi-layer reduction and multi-block linocut, with the introduction of monotype elements. In her works, Anna tries to convey space and mood with the help of color, as in painting.
Anna’s graphic sheets do not tell specific stories, they are collective images of peace, comfort, adventure, anxiety, summer childhood, autumn evening. They are fabulous, but not too much, somewhere on the edge; it’s kind of magical, but still possible. It was as if you were a spectator who turned away, and it seemed to him that a large scaly tail slipped through the water or a marble statue suddenly made a slight movement with its hand. Everyone writes their own fairy tale of life: graphic artist Anna Barabanova tells her fairy tales with the help of fine art. The curator of the project is Marina Gurevich.
