The Moscow Museum of Modern Art (MMOMA) presents Andrey Dyudi Sarabyanov’s solo exhibition "Where the Heart Is". The first large-scale museum project of the artist, whose works update the traditions of the Moscow school of painting in a new way and captivate with openness and immediacy of feeling rare these days, will unfold in the spacious enfilades of the building on Gogolevsky Boulevard - from two angles at once.
The exhibition will retrospectively demonstrate Sarabyanov’s main paintings and graphic series, created over the past ten years. From “diary” natural landscapes of the harsh north of Russia to colorful sketches of Uzbekistan, from semi-abstract urban views of Moscow to introspective scenes “in the rooms”, from a whole gallery of female faces of friends and acquaintances spontaneously captured by gouache, to intimate digital portraits of teenage daughters full of touching warmth noticed during everyday activities during the quarantine of the twentieth year.
In all these diverse series, the artist, the successor of a well-known creative dynasty, appears as an attentive and interested observer of life, able to see beauty and significance in its "litter", in its inconspicuous flow.
