The Khazine National Gallery of the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin presents a personal exhibition of Anatoly Nikolayevich Egorov, artist of decorative art (tapestry) and painter.
A.N. Egorov was born in 1948 in Kazan. He graduated from the Moscow Higher Art-Industrial (Stroganov) School (1970 - 1975). He is a laureate of the Prize of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan named after B. Urmanche (2005).
At the personal exhibition, both tapestries and paintings will be shown. The main works of A. N. Egorov in the field of arts and crafts are tapestries “Kazan. Bauman Street ”(2003),“ Sviyazhsk ”(2004). They, like many of the master’s paintings, are in the Pushkin Museum of the Republic of Tatarstan, and his work is also in the Museum of the History of Sviyazhsk, private collections in Russia, Great Britain, Holland, Greece, and the USA.
Anatoly Nikolaevich is one of the few masters in Tatarstan who is engaged in monumental textiles. The exhibition will host the first display of his grand tapestry “Artist Nikolai Feshin”, completed this year. Work on it lasted 10 years. The work, whose dimensions are 4 x 2, 7 meters, shows our famous countryman on the background of motifs from his most famous works - “Portrait of Varya Adoratskaya”, “Cabbage”, “Dousing”. The work of A. N. Egorov is a kind of artistic offering to an outstanding master, who still has no monument in his homeland.
No less interesting for the viewer should be familiarity with the painting of A. N. Egorov, which “sounds” quietly, but surprisingly life-affirming and harmonious. The subject of the artist is the surroundings of Sviyazhsk, the quiet joys of life, a world of peace and eternity. It is always a separation from the bustle and earthliness.
According to the famous art critic Galina Tuluzakova: “Temples and the river are tuning forks of eternity, but at the same time inseparable elements of the integral pattern of ordinary life. The love of pure colors, which is quite logical for a tapestry artist, the ability to melt a visual motif into a decorative whole, while retaining spatial and volume characteristics, his own interpretation of the experience of European and Russian impressionism and post-impressionism combined with personal warm intonation, allows Anatoly Egorov to create compositions, where the simplicity and immediacy of the impression is combined with the most complex pictorial plastic. ”
The exhibition runs until April 1, 2018.
