The personal exhibition of the honored artist of the Russian Federation Stasyuk Alexander Nikolaevich “Native Motives” is dedicated to the nature of Russia and is the result of many years of creative activity. It presents works in watercolor technique, performed in numerous open airs.
The artist is primarily attracted by the uniqueness of the nature of Russia, the reserved corners of the North with preserved ancient monuments, amazing and sometimes unexpected light and color effects of a changing environment. He is led by the desire to hold the moment, capture the beauty and convey it in his works. In developing the traditions of Russian landscape painting, the author tried to convey the lyricism of natural motifs, the mood and spirit of the place and time. The solemnity of sunrises and sunsets, the movement of light and shadow, the riot of wind and the flow of water, the romance and drama of the motive, the harmony of plants and all life.
A separate section of the exhibition is devoted to flowers. This is a favorite topic of the author. It most sharply manifests the artist’s temperament, decorative gift, possession of color diversity. To paint flowers is an endless experiment that gives energy, delight and joy of knowledge. Still lifes with flowers are made mainly in the a la prima technique both in the open air and in the workshop.
Landscape painting occupies a special place in the work of A. N. Stasyuk. The works performed on numerous trips to Karelia, Vyatka Territory, Ulyanovsk Region, Central Asia, Ukraine, Belarus, St. Petersburg, and the cities of Moscow Region are combined in cycles and series.
Karelian plein airs cover the period from 2006 to 2018.The power, beauty and pristine nature of the northern nature, the dynamics of light and color, the infinity of the sky reflected in the lakes gave rise to a desire to convey the energy of these places, the acuity of sensations and a strong emotional lift.
Plein airs in the protected Urzhum and environs dedicated to the Vasnetsov brothers were held from 2014 to 1017. The Vyatka land amazes with the beauty of nature, the richness of plots, and the fabulousness of preserved antiquity. It is no coincidence that it gave rise to a galaxy of talented Russian artists.
The Moscow region has been and remains a constant theme of the artist. The change of seasons, the vagaries of nature, sunrises and sunsets, an infinite number of plots and compositions were always nearby. This allowed to create many sketches and cycles. Part of one of them, “Seasons,” is presented at the exhibition.
