The solo exhibition “The Secret of the Obvious” by Alexander Tsyplakov, a Moscow artist, organizer and participant in the creative association “Romantics of Realism”, will be held in the hall of the Moscow Artists’ Association on Tverskaya-Yamskaya, October 20-26, 2019.
The exposition will be composed of landscapes created between 1999 and 2019. The viewer will see his beloved Russia: Tver land and its pearl - Lake Seliger, Kostroma expanses, Yaroslavl fields and coppices, the surroundings of the Cossack Uryupinsk with a floodplain wide in the Khopra flood, ancient Russian cities - Moscow, Suzdal, Kolomna, Soligalich.
The plot and geographical diversity of the works reveals their main quality, clearly visible precisely in a personal exhibition: all of them, regardless of the size of the canvas and the degree of elaboration, possess the main property of real landscape painting - they contain a deep space filled not only with various natural and man-made things but - and this is most important - air and light. In this case, the artist uses only traditional artistic means from the treasury of world realistic painting - drawing, composition, color and tone. This is how a person sees the world: everything visible has a form, is located in a certain way in space, has color and is illuminated.
The artist’s landscapes are active, they attract the viewer’s eye, and he easily “enters” the world of realistic painting. If the plot is close to him, he can “travel” for a long time in the space of the picture, gradually gaining peace and harmony with nature, as if in reality being present in the real place and time of the creation of the landscape.
What do we expect from the landscape? First of all, beauty, as irrefutable proof of the necessity of our life in this world, of which we are a part - for beauty is “addressed” to man, only he is able to admire the perfection of the universe; and also - free, without the annoying presence of civilization, communication with native nature.
All this is in the landscapes of Alexander Tsyplakov, it is only necessary to turn off the vain noise of ordinary consciousness, not to glance with an absent-minded look on the surface of the paintings, but to try to contemplate them, plunging into the natural world accompanied by personal experience of perceiving the beautiful.
