In Boston, a rally against Renoir Automatic translate
BOSTON. A small group of Boston residents staged a rally a few days ago near the walls of the Museum of Fine Arts. Their only requirement was to remove from the museum exposition the works of the French impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir. How did Renoir not please the Bostonians?
The new movement was born on the social network Instagram and quickly gained a certain number of adherents. This is what the organizer of the movement, Max Geller, says: “Why do so many people think that he is good? Have you looked at his paintings? In real life, trees are beautiful. When you look at a picture of Renoir, you might think that trees are just a collection of green squiggles. ”
“Renoir is considered a good artist because his work is in all museums,” adds Geller.
Geller hates the artist so much that he maintains a special account on Instagram, where he uploads his paintings and does not hesitate to criticize them. Today he has 2400 subscribers. The account provoked the wrath of Genevieve Renoir, who calls herself the great-great-granddaughter of the French impressionist. She commented on one of the photographs by Gellar Genevieve: “When your great-great-grandfather draws something that costs $ 78.1 million, then you can criticize it. At the same time, it is safe to say that the market does not consider him a bad artist. ”
Geller called the woman’s arguments absurd, noting that we should not allow the market to dictate terms to us. At the same time, Geller gave a whole list of things that were imposed on us by the market, which at the same time affect climate change, destroy nature and take people into technological slavery.
The Museum of Fine Arts left the rally itself and Max Gellar’s statements without comment.
