New surrealistic paintings by Julio Valdez at the June Kelly Gallery Automatic translate
NEW YORK. From November 7 to December 9, the June Kelly Gallery hosts an exhibition of new surrealistic works by the Latin American artist Julio Valdes, displaying on the canvas his sensual inspiration, inspired by an endless palette of blue and green shades of the sea, splashing off the coast of his homeland - the Dominican Republic.
The exhibition is called “Para Soñar el Sol” (“Dreams of the Sun”), taken from the song “Sueño de Una Noche de Verano” (“A Midsummer Night’s Dream”), Cuban composer Silvio Rodriguez, whose poems inspired Valdes throughout his life careers. The artist’s painting is like a water theater, fabulously and hallucinatory reflecting the master’s view of the sea, which for Valdes is a metaphor for consciousness and creative spirit. For the artist, the sea and the sun are a symbol of his native islands, mystical dreams of a "living" light and a symbol of exile, remoteness from the whole world, secrecy behind the vast expanse of the ocean. Valdez’s paintings, with their transparency and visual instability, create an alarming feeling of isolation, danger and freedom. He gives us a world where nature is endowed with its own consciousness, where the sensuality of the tropics only emphasizes the isolation of island life, and dreams of traveling to distant lands are restrained by powerful emotional bonds with their homeland.
The paintings of Julio Valdez were presented at many private and group exhibitions in the USA, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. The artist’s creativity has already become part of the iconic cultural heritage of the countries of his region, as school of latin american dances , sculptures by Fernando Botero and the work of Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Valdez’s works are in the collections of museums such as El Museo del Barrio, New York; Art Museum of Los Angeles; Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, New Jersey; Grimaldi Museum, France; Museo de Arte Contemporaneo, Puerto Rico; Museum of Modern Art in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and many others.

Признаков сюрреализма не нашла в картине, хотя очень старалась, но такой бы работой я гордилась, именно уровнем мастерства, а смысл остался где-то.
Просто фотореализм....
