In Uzbekistan, discovered a picture of Veronese Automatic translate
The State Museum of the Republic of Uzbekistan presented to the public the painting “Lamentation of Christ” (Lamentación sobre Cristo Muerto), Italian artist Paolo Veronese (Paolo Veronese, 1528-1588), recently discovered in the cellars of the museum.
“Our collection is rich in wonderful works of art, and now has found another pearl. The museum’s funds still contain many works, the authorship of which has not yet been determined or is in doubt, ”the director of the State Museum-Reserve Vasily Fayziev quoted the local media.
According to researchers, the work of Grand Duke Nikolai Konstantinovich Romanov was previously delivered to Tashkent in 1880. Forty years later, in 1920, the painting “Mourning of Christ” by Veronese was included in the collection of the Central Museum of Art, which was later reformed into the largest art gallery in Central Asia. For almost a hundred years, experts have looked at a painting depicting a biblical scene as belonging to a brush by an unknown artist. A number of chemical tests confirmed the authenticity of the authorship of the Italian artist, who was born in Verona and became one of the most prominent representatives of mannerism.
The canvas is exhibited at the State Museum of the Republic of Uzbekistan after a cycle of restoration work.
