The US Postal Service reported that a painting stolen from the Venus Over Manhattan gallery by Salvador Dali was mailed back to New York from Europe.
The stolen watercolor was intercepted on Friday at Kennedy International Airport. A $ 150,000 piece of art was stolen in Manhattan last week by a man pretending to be a visitor.
A spokeswoman for the NYPD, Donna Harris, told The New York Times that the gallery received a letter this week that said the painting was mailed. No arrests were made in this case. How the canvas crossed the border of the United States also remains unknown. Representatives of the gallery declined to comment on the situation.
