The Theater of Satire announced "Spring Premier" Automatic translate
The theatrical action "Spring Premier" - symbolizes the new repertory direction of the Theater of Satire, as well as those changes and updates that await the theater in the near future. Among the premieres of "Balalaykin and Co" based on the novel by M. E. Saltykov-Shchedrin "Modern Idyll", the plastic performance "Arbenin. Masquerade Without Words" based on the play by M. Yu. Lermontov and the play "Uncle George", based on the plays by A.P. Chekhov - "Leshy" and "Uncle Vanya".
The theater explains the decision to combine premiere performances into one action for several reasons. Firstly, these are multi-genre premieres - satire, lyrics and drama. Secondly, they are all based on the works of the classics of Russian literature - Saltykov-Shchedrin, Lermontov, Chekhov. The theater emphasizes that this is not an accident, but a desire to popularize the national classical heritage in the repertory theater. At the same time, all three premieres are original directorial decisions of a modern interpretation of classical works.
"Spring Premier" will open in mid-March with a performance of "Balalaykin and Co."
Director Sergei Gazarov and set designer Vladimir Arefiev show the absurdity of the situation described in the novel by Saltykov-Shchedrin in the space of the performance, as through a magnifying glass. The powerful dynamics that reigns in the performance would not have been possible without a brilliant ensemble of actors. Sergey Chonishvili, Sergey Serov, Sergey Klimov, Andrey Ankudinov, Albert Khasiev, Nadezhda Filippova and other artists work amazingly accurately, touching the deepest corners of human souls.
The next production within the framework of the “Spring of Premiers” is “Arbenin. Masquerade without words . The well-known choreographer and director Sergei Zemlyansky, a recognized master of telling theatrical stories without words, is working on a production in the genre of Wordless drama (plastic drama). He interacts with all the sensual metamorphoses of his characters without text, with the help of the language of plasticity, facial expressions and gestures. In this work, for the first time, the artists of the two troupes are brought together. The main roles are played by Maxim Averin and Zoya Berber, Moryana Anttonen-Shostakova. The co-authors of the director in this production were: set designer Maxim Obrezkov, composer Pavel Akimkin, lighting designer Alexander Sivaev. The premiere is scheduled for the second half of April.
The theatrical action will be completed by the production of Sergei Gazarov’s "Uncle George" - based on the combined plot of two famous plays by Chekhov "Leshy" and "Uncle Vanya". Despite the fact that both plays were written over a century ago, their thoughts are strikingly recognizable and relevant today.
Sergei Gazarov sees this story as a real comedy - funny, sharp, sometimes satirical. It is about today’s cult of a person’s boundless love for himself. This is an ironic view of what is happening, enclosed in the framework of a brilliant Chekhov’s text.
Music and scenography become an important accent of the premiere. The well-known stage designer Alexander Borovsky is working on the design of the space, and composer Alexei Aigi writes the music. The main roles are played by Fedor Lavrov, Alexandra Mareeva, Sergei Klimov, Yuri Vasiliev, Yuri Nifontov. The premiere is scheduled for the end of May.
The key partner of the theater is the Art, Science and Sport Charitable Foundation.
