Sketches of performances created during the director’s laboratory, which opened under the name “Theater to Generation Z”, shown on the stage of the Drama Theater, ended with a five-day staged marathon. Its result was four conceptual productions of young directors. The task of the laboratory participants was to create performances that are close and understandable to modern young people.

The first directorial work presented to the public was a sketch set by Ekaterina Gorokhovskaya, who arrived from St. Petersburg. She chose the story written by Leonid Andreev, The Angel, to create the sketch. The story is written by a popular contemporary playwright - Yaroslava Pulinovich.

The director decided to separate the heroes of the story from different eras, leaving the rich Sveshnikovs family in their time, and placing the dysfunctional family of the main character of the play - the teenager Sasha, these days. The events that took place with the boy could not leave the audience indifferent.

The public was interested in the sketch set by the St. Petersburg director Andrei Goncharov, who chose the play “Resurrection. Super". This play was written based on Leo Tolstoy’s novel for the Moscow Art Theater. The theater lobby located on the second floor was chosen as the venue for the show. Heroes of Tolstoy sing a chanson, twist spinners and take selfies, that is, there is a modern atmosphere.

Alexei Kudryashov, a young director from Moscow, used a theater gym to show his work. His sketch was the play "Inhale-Inhale" by the modern playwright Yulia Tupikina, dedicated to school problems. The story of the girl who became the object of bullying in the class shocked the audience, many of whom were the same age as the heroine.

Daniil Beznosov, who arrived in Nizhny Tagil from Krasnodar, took up the production of a sketch of the play based on the novel by Saltykov-Shchedrin. His re-enactment, dubbed “Lord Golovlev. Mama ”was written by Yaroslava Pulinovich. The eternal problems of “fathers and children” always resonate with the public of any age.

It is difficult to say which of the created sketches can turn into a full-fledged performance, but Igor Bulygin, the artistic director of the Nizhny Tagil drama, noted that he liked all the works presented by the directors.
