This play was well known in the literary world, but after its first production in the author’s direction and in the sets made by Filonov and Shkolnik, Tragedy was not perceived as a stage text that can be staged today.

Philip Grigoryan decided to restore her in theatrical rights. He became both a director and a production designer dedicated to Vladimir Mayakovsky. According to the director, in 1913 there were no such opportunities for working on the stage as today.

In the work on this performance, he became assistants with new technologies for working with sound, the ability to use video materials. But the main thing that allowed this unique production to appear was a unique group of actors working in the Gogol Center.

Fans of the theater have already become acquainted with productions that have become dedications to Pasternak, Akhmatova, Mandelstam, St. Petersburg poet Mikhail Kuzmin. Now they have to plunge into the world of Vladimir Mayakovsky, revived on the stage of the Gogol Center by director Philip Grigoryan and a talented team of actors.
