This happened in 1991, however, the history of the theater’s birth began much earlier, when the “Theater Studio of the Future” began to work in 1976. On the basis of this studio, where children and adolescents received their first theatrical skills, Vera Gorshkova, Honored Worker of Culture of the Russian Federation, and a new Nizhny Novgorod children’s theater was created.

Over the years of the operation of the Vera Theater, its artists have become winners at theater festivals many times, and in the theater events held in the German city of Essen, the Nizhny Novgorod collective has long been among the regular participants.

For many years without a stage of its own, the Vera Theater showed only 184 performances in 2015, including four premieres. They were able to see 44 thousand spectators living in the Lower and outside the city.

During the congratulation of the artists by the head of Nizhny Novgorod, Ivan Karnilin, words were heard about a worthy place in the cultural life of the city occupied by the theater. However, the most important words for the anniversaries were the words of the chapter, which inspired the artists with hope that the building, which had been their home for many years, was planned to be restored in the near future.
