But the show of new modern plays in the format of a theater marathon in Kirov is taking place for the first time.

The organizers of this unique event were the artists of the regional drama theater in collaboration with the Theater on Spasskaya. During the theatrical marathon, which took place on June 10 in the large reading room of the main library of the city, the actors presented three plays to the audience. There was practically no break between them - the reading of one barely ended, immediately followed by a sequel.

Since two theaters took part in the program of the marathon, they called it “Theater + Theater”. Some viewers first attended the readings of plays, which can be called the very first stage of the birth of the play. At this stage, viewers become acquainted with the plot of the play, its characters, the mood set by the author and performers.

The theater marathon introduced the audience to the play “Bird Phoenix” written by Nikolai Kolyada, as well as two plays by Oleg Bogaev. The directors have chosen for reading the Secret Society of Cyclists and Dawn-way. The road is down… ". It is possible that after some time, Kirov’s spectators will see these plays in the repertoire of theaters.

The goal of this marathon is not only acquaintance with new plays. During the marathon, a fundraiser was held to support the Kolyada-Plays festival. This year, among its participants will be the Theater on Spasskaya. Some of the viewers simply left money, and some went home with a unique souvenir purchased at a “theater flea market”.
