Participation in theater laboratories has already become a popular way for young directors to show their skills.

The project was again organized by Oleg Loevsky, a theater critic who is the art director of the Laboratory. Elena Nosova, permanent curator of theater projects organized by the Theater of Nations, also takes part in the team that arrived in Novocherkassk. Together with them, teachers of the Moscow Art Theater School participate in the laboratory.

This time, the Theater Laboratory is dedicated to working on plays by contemporary playwrights. This is not the first time Oleg Loevsky has been holding such an event in the Rostov Region. Previously, it was held in the form of a festival of modern dramaturgy called “Rostov Readings”. This festival was intended both for artists and for authors beginning playwrights.

The creative laboratory, unlike the festival, is a more “lively” project, allowing viewers to decide which of the sketches will become a full-fledged performance in the future. As usual, during the preparatory period, three plays by young playwrights were selected for participation in the laboratory.

Tupikina’s play “BA” (Moscow director Nikita Betekhin) and the play, already written in popularity, written by Y. Pulinovich, “How I Became…” will receive ratings from the audience.
