For everyone else, a holiday began on April 15 in Ivanovo. For the eleventh time, the “Anthill-2016” festival opened in the regional puppet theater.

The Anthill program will be shown at several theater venues, because 14 groups from Russian cities and neighboring countries came to the festival. The competition preceding the festival was attended by almost 50 applicants for participation in the festival program. The organizer of the festival was very difficult to select the best theatrical works.

The first to show their work was the Ivanovo Puppet Theater - the hosts of the festival. Having decided that less than a month was left before the Victory Day, they decided to present the audience and participants of the festival a dedication to the people who made this holiday appear. “He, She and the War” - this is the name given to the performance staged by director Elena Ivanova.

She is also the author of the dramatization, created based on songs popular in the war years and letters from the front, which are now treasured in the families of war veterans. This performance was a huge gratitude from the puppet theater team to those who went through the war, while reminding our contemporaries of the need to preserve peace.

In the evening, the festival will be picked up by artists who came to Ivanovo from Perm. The Karabaska Theater brought to the festival the most beloved by the audience Gogol fairy tale “The Night Before Christmas”. There are a lot of music in the performance of Perm artists, where Ukrainian folklore genres are used.

The last festival day will be April 19th.
