CHELYABINSK. An unusual creative meeting took place on April 21 at the Puppet Theater of Chelyabinsk. The theater staff decided to celebrate the anniversary of the performance, staged in 1977. The musical performance “Love Story” returned to the theater stage for one evening with the actresses who twenty years ago played in this magnificent directorial work of Alexander Borok and Sergey Plotov.

Then, five actresses - A. Antipova, L. Glushkov, N. Baldin, V. Shiryaev and A. Zharikov took part in the play, which was based on urban courtyard songs. The accompanist and choirmaster was Gilda Kazartseva, who also performed the arrangements of the songs sounded in the play.

Performances for adult spectators in puppet theaters are not put on too often, so it immediately became an event for theatergoers in Chelyabinsk. The “Love Story” gained its popularity due to the high professionalism of actresses and the team of directors of the musical performance.

This statement became a turning point for the collective on the way from the ordinary work of the theater to leadership in modern puppet art. Chelyabinsk artists showed Love Story at several theater festivals, including international ones, and at the VII festival, which brought together the Ural Puppet Theaters, the performance was awarded the Grand Prix. The TV channel "Culture" created a video recording of the play, which was then repeatedly shown on television.

The evening, held on April 21, was a meeting of the audience with their favorite actresses. Some of them came from other cities. The participants of the legendary performance showed separate fragments of the performance in concert performance. The entire performance was presented to the audience in the video. Before the evening, the actress planted young Japanese apple trees in the square near the theater. They will become a memory of the anniversary of the “Love Story”.
