The Mariinsky Theater’s Primorsky Branch hosted the first lesson of the Young Theater School Automatic translate
VLADIVOSTOK. “The School of the Young Theater-goer” - under this name, on March 16, a project was opened on the Primorsky Stage (a branch of the Mariinsky Theater), designed to attract young spectators to the world of art and help in understanding the world of opera. The first cycle of the project program, which will continue until the end of the current theater season, is dedicated to the history of opera in different countries.
A cycle of classes opened with a story about the work of Italian composers, the former creators of the opera genre. However, Alexander Vovnenko, leading the first lesson of the school of young theatergoers, first immersed his students in the distant past - in the world of Ancient Greece.
The first theater appeared in Hellas, where artists performed tragedies in the amphitheater arena, embodying the plots of ancient Greek myths in them. Alexander Vovnenko called the ancient Greek tragedy the grandmother of the opera, saying that the artists of that time did not talk on stage, but sang.
The continuation of the lesson was the execution by the orchestra of the Primorsky scene of fragments from Claudio Monteverdi’s opera Orpheus. Performers with instruments appeared on the stage in turn, and the presenter represented the musician and his instrument. Many of the students at the school already knew the names of the instruments, so they together helped the facilitator.
After listening to fragments of Orpheus, the children heard a story about the history of Italian opera, and then the performance was performed by Anastasia Kikot, the soloist of the opera group of the theater, often accompanying the chamber orchestra. Her performance sounded the works of Vivaldi, Scarlatti and Monteverdi.
If the first lesson of the school is missed, then its program can also be seen on March 23. In April, children will enjoy the second lesson of the cycle, dedicated to the French opera, and in May, listeners will plunge into the world of opera in England.
