MOSCOW. The STD annual theater award ceremony was held on Monday - for the fourteenth time the best metropolitan performance presented to the audience last season was awarded the “Nail of the Season” award. Awarding took place in the center "On Strastnoy". The nominees for the award were five performances staged in Moscow theaters.

The main award - “Big Crystal Nail”, was presented to the play “Nuremberg”, staged at the Russian Youth Theater by director Alexei Borodin. The play “Nuremberg” was based on a screenplay written by the famous American screenwriter Abby Mann.

In his intense drama, the author spoke about one of the many lawsuits that took place in Nuremberg, which was charged with Nazi judges. The performance, staged at RAMT, became a reflection on the measure of responsibility of each person for their country. The events that took place decades ago did not cease to be relevant, because even the most terrible things sometimes become commonplace in the modern world.

The “Nail of the Season" award does not have standard nominations; this award is received by the entire team, which created the performance recognized as the best. The remaining nominees were two performances staged at the Moscow Art Theater. Chekhov’s “Mephisto” and “The Anniversary of the Jeweler”, the Bolshoi Theater ballet “Hero of Our Time” and the performance “Running” staged by Yuri Butusov at the Vakhtangov Theater. These performances were awarded "Small Crystal Nails."

As always, the award ceremony brought together the full hall of the center on Strastnoy. The hosts of the evening, which turned into a traditionally fun and witty performance, were two critics, Marina and Olga. These images were embodied by director Konstantin Bogomolov and Vakhtnagovsky actor Sergei Epishev.
