Thesis of the young director Anton Gritsenko "On the wedding day" was presented at the Youth Theater Automatic translate
ST. PETERSBURG. Spectators of the theater on Fontanka were given the opportunity to see the thesis of a graduate of the Russian State Institute for Contemporary Art, a young director Anton Gritsenko. He created a play based on the play “On Wedding Day” written by Victor Rozov in 1963.
Despite the long life of the play, Petersburg viewers saw this work by Rozov for the first time on February 17, when the premiere of the play took place. The novice director entrusted the design of his thesis to Alexander Khramtsov, an artist quite young, but with sufficient experience in theaters.
During his work, Alexander Khramtsov designed thirty performances, successfully included in the repertoire of theaters of different cities - from St. Petersburg to Ulan-Ude. In the 2010-2011 season, he was nominated for Golden Spotlights. This is the highest theater prize in the city of Petersburg.
The performers of most of the roles in the play were artists representing the young generation of the Youth Theater staff. Many of the participants in the performance received an acting profession in the workshop of Semyon Spivak, artistic director of the theater on the Fontanka. This is an experimental youth project in the theater is not the first time.
Thus, Semyon Spivak, who took the artistic leadership over the creative process of this project, helps young talents in solving serious professional problems. The scene in the play was not tied to a certain locality by Rozov, but the performers decided that the events of the play “On the Wedding Day” took place in a small village located on the banks of the Volga.
The creators of the play confidently say that half a century separating the characters of the play does not matter, because the play “On Wedding Day” talks about love, a feeling that is most important for people from any era.
