The Taganka Theater premiered the poetic performance "Flute-spine" Automatic translate
MOSCOW. The second premiere, presented to the audience after the repair of the Taganka Small Stage, was a musical and poetic performance, the composition of which was created by Veniamin Smekhov. The People’s Artist of the Russian Federation called his work “Flute-Spine”, using in it the texts of all the main poems written by Mayakovsky.
Letters that exchanged Mayakovsky and the main woman in the life of the poet, Lilya Brik, also entered the play. The participants of the performance were the works of four Russian poets - Pushkin, Lermontov, Nekrasov, Yesenin.
In this chamber production, there are sad and funny motifs, and the theme of the Caucasus, where the Poet’s childhood was spent, is not left aside. To this end, two little-known works by Mayakovsky and Lermontov’s poems were included in the composition.
Veniamin Smekhov often refers to the work of Mayakovsky. He wrote several scripts for productions created based on the works of Mayakovsky. Often he himself was also a director when setting up his scripts, telling about the personality of the Poet and his poems.
When Yuri Lyubimov presented his legendary play “Listen” in 1967, Veniamin Smekhov was his co-author. Mayakovsky’s work was carried away by Smekhov in his early youth, and his acquaintance with Lily Brik turned this hobby into a debt to the poet’s memory. In the life of Veniamin Smekhov Vladimir Mayakovsky has long been one of the most important poets.
The creators of the play decided that its chamberness does not require the creation of special decorations, so the design of the production is very ascetic. On the back wall of the stage recreated the famous signature of Mayakovsky - an image of a puppy. On the stage there is a red cube, an easel and a stepladder, and against this background three people read poems in which the difficult life of the poet is revealed to the audience.
