MOSCOW. On December 10, at the Taganka Theater, they presented to the public the first (after the completion of the repair) performance on the opened Small Stage. Viewers saw the play "Golden Dragon", born from a sketch created in the framework of the project "Rehearsal", an experiment of the current season.

The Golden Dragon is a surreal tragedy staged by director Valery Surkova. The play was based on the play by Roland Schimmelpfennig, a modern German playwright.

The day before the premiere, a meeting was held between representatives of the theater in the person of Irina Apeksimova, director of Taganka, Elena Grueva, director of the Rehearsals project and director of the premiere performance Valeria Surkova with journalists. This meeting was dedicated to important events for the Taganka Theater - the opening of a small stage and the completion of emergency operations.

The meeting was also attended by Dmitry Makarov, director of the State Committee of Ukraine, engaged in repair work in the theater building. He told reporters about the events, the implementation of which ensured the continued operability of the building. After the meeting, journalists were able to get acquainted with the upcoming premiere. On the Small Stage, a preliminary screening of the Golden Dragon took place.

Soon, several more performances born within the framework of the Rehearsals project will appear in the repertoire, and on December 24, another premiere will take place on the Small Stage - the performance The Flute-Spine. It was directed by the director Galina Aksyonova, and on the stage, the audience will see Veniamin Smekhov, Dmitry Vysotsky and Maria Matveeva. The author of the poetic and musical composition is Veniamin Smekhov.

According to Irina Apeksimova, the Big Stage will be opened on January 31st. Spectators will meet again with the heroes of “The Good Man from Cezuan”, a performance from which the history of the Taganka Theater began.
