Norshteyn, Bronzit and the best world animation. The education of taste and the joy of learning Automatic translate
MOSCOW. The Ninth Big Cartoon Festival entertained, enlightened, pleased.
The fact that cartoons can be different: smart, avant-garde, masterpieces, the viewer sometimes learns only at prestigious film screenings. And gets used to second-rate masscult. But water wears away the stone, and festivals gradually instill a taste for good cinema, stimulating the desire to see it more often. The ten-day program of the next BFM turned out to be very capacious, diverse and somewhat sensational. It includes all the best and successful of the created in the last year in domestic and foreign animation, special programs, lectures, master classes, meetings, retrospective reviews of programs of famous multforums: Stuttgart, Suzdal, Polish O! PLA.
In the children’s block of the main program, the 65th anniversary of the Moomins was celebrated with new films about them. In the creation of Soviet cartoons about funny creatures Petrushevskaya, Rybnikov, Gerdt, Shorina took part. The more interesting it was to compare them with the works of Maria Lindberg (Maria Lindberg) and Xavier Picard (Xavier Picard), filmed in the 2000s.
The “Names” section was dedicated this time to Konstantin Bronzit. In his filmography, in addition to the commercial Alyosha Popovich, Luntik and Dwarf Nose, there is also an author’s short meter, to which the director has been gravitating the most lately: “On the edge of the earth”, “Deity”. The last flight about the cosmos in just a year has won more than 50 awards. A member of the French and American film academies Bronzit, his teachers consider Mark Baker, Mikel Dudock de Vit and genius Norshtein. The lecture of the latter on the musicality of the image with illustrations from films of past years was one of the best moments of the festival. Music has become an ornament of the Polish program. The visualization of images born under the impression of the music of Grieg, Mozart, Chopin, formed the basis of wonderful short films. Famous Polish artists gave them their talent and inspiration.
One of the sensations of the BFM was the program of the German animated avant-garde of the 20-30s of the last century. Silhouette films by Lotte Reiniger, geometric figures by Dadaist Hans Richter, parable by Bertold Bartosch, diagonal Viking Eggeling symphony (Viking Eggeling).
