KIROV. Director’s laboratories now often began to be organized in Russian theaters, but such an event is held for the first time in the Kirov Drama. The head of the laboratory, which began work on October 18, is Oleg Loevsky, a well-known theater critic. However, he himself could not come to Kirov. Anna Banasyukevich, deputy of Loevsky, became the curator of the directorial laboratory.

She noted that there was not enough time allotted for preparing sketches of performances, on which directors with solid experience in creative work are working - already on October 22, the works will be shown to the audience. However, such a short time allows the laboratory participants to show their skills and their abilities.

Oleg Loevsky provided an opportunity for each of the three directors invited to participate in the laboratory to choose material for production independently. The most experienced of them, Evgeny Lantsov, decided to work with the play "Elsa’s Land". He motivates his choice by meeting with the author of the play, Yaroslava Pulinovich. The director already has experience with her works.

Director Yegor Chernyshev, who came from St. Petersburg, is working on Andrei Ivanov’s play “The Red Wolf”. He was interested in the problems raised in this play presented by the author at the Lyubimovka festival. The director is sure that the play will be interesting to the audience.

The third participant in the laboratory, Oleg Stepanov, who works as the main director at the Sarapul Drama Theater, chose Olga Tukhany’s play by Olga Mukhina. He noted that in such a short time it would be difficult to create a sketch of the play, but all the more interesting to work on it.

The results of the laboratory will be announced on October 22nd, when any of the audience who wants to get acquainted with the director’s work will be able to freely visit each of the performances.
