The competition-festival "Camerata" has opened in Chelyabinsk, this year representing solo performances Automatic translate
CHELYABINSK. On October 15, the Chelyabinsk Chamber Theater solemnly welcomed guests and participants of the Camerata Theater Festival. This year, Camerata opens already 12 times. The festival poster shows the names of theaters representing Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Nizhnevartovsk, Moscow and Moscow Region. Foreign guests also take part in Camerata. This time, artists from Sweden and Israel arrived in Chelyabinsk.
Before the opening ceremony and the subsequent demonstration of the first performance of the festival, the artists of the Chamber Theater informed the Chelyabinsk residents about the beginning of the theater festival. At first they appeared as a friendly company in the space of the pedestrian zone of Kirovka. There, Mikhail Yakovlev, well-known to the theater-goers of the city in the roles played on the Kamerny stage, read poems announcing the performances of the festival program.
In the evening, the word Camerata appeared at the entrance to the Chamber Theater, animated by the figures of the artists. This action became a kind of invitation of the audience to the opening of the festival program. The 12th Camerata Competition and Festival that has opened is dedicated to solo performances.
In Russia, festivals of solo performances are not held too often, however, among the actors the popularity of this genre is quite large. Only in this genre can an artist simultaneously imagine himself not only as a performer, but also as a director.
A one-man show can be arranged in the form of a monologue, where a first-person artist leads a story about events in the character’s life. Sometimes in a solo performance there are several characters, but performed by one artist. Previously, Camerata was not conducted in this format.
On the opening day, viewers saw the one-man show “The Kreutzer Sonata”, performed by Alexander Tykhonov, artist of the Tyumen Drama Theater.
