KAZAN. On August 5, the XXXIII World Finals of the Sports Film and Television Championship opened in the capital of Tatarstan. Prior to this, for its 32 years of existence, the film forum was held exclusively in Italian Milan, and for the first time in history, the organizers decided to expand its borders and go beyond the borders of their state. Filmmakers from many countries came to Kazan to present their best films on sports topics to the jury and spectators.

Within the framework of the competition, the jury will evaluate the work in seven nominations - these are feature films and documentaries, the Olympics, new technologies in sports, the interaction of society and sports, as well as the work of advertising and sports and football topics. Film screenings in the framework of the nominations are already underway and will end in three days. Pictures are shown in the 3D cinema PORT Cinema. The finals of the competition will be held in FINA Park, where the festival organizers promise to hold a cultural and entertainment festival called “The Year Before Rio de Janeiro”. This name was not chosen by chance, because it is in this city that next year the 2016 Summer Olympics will be held.

In the show program, Russia will be represented by the sensational premieres of recent years - “Legend No. 17”, “Mikhail Poddubny”, “Match”, “Magic Football” and others. In total, 26 Russian films will be shown in the framework of the competition programs, and in total more than a hundred films from Australia, Great Britain, the USA, Ireland and other countries of the world will be presented to the international jury and spectators. The opening film of a large-scale film forum was the picture of Farid Davletshin “Lady Hook”, which was presented by Nikolai Valuev himself.

The festival program includes many diverse events in which famous athletes, directors, actors and musicians will directly participate. In addition to entertaining meetings and events, the organizers will hold round tables at which leading figures in the film industry will discuss the development of sports films and television.

Prizes and awards of the XXXIII World Finals of the Sports Film and Television Championship will be awarded on the last day of the event at the closing ceremony. The winners in the nominations of the contest will be determined by counting the votes that the participants will gain for the festival days.
