The “Night of Poetry” held in the Hermitage Garden united fans of Vladimir Vysotsky’s work Automatic translate
MOSCOW. In the evening of July 24, everyone could come to the Hermitage Garden, where the Night of Poetry was held, organized by two theaters, formerly a single whole. Artists of the Taganka Theater teamed up with the Commonwealth of Actors on Taganka to commemorate their colleague, Vladimir Vysotsky, who passed away 35 years ago, with the “Night of Poetry”.
There is no need to explain what it means for people gathered in the Hermitage to spend the night listening to and reading poetry of the poet, to watch famous shots from plays and films again and to sing along to the performers of songs of the famous bard. In the thirty-five years that have passed since the day of Vysotsky’s death, a considerable number of fans of his work, born later than his departure, were added to the poet’s fans.
This was clearly noticeable by the age of the audience, which, together with the artists, became full participants in the “Poetry Night”. The participants of this event were especially interested in its non-standard format, radically different from the usual concerts.
Those who came to the Hermitage were not divided into spectators and actors, each of them became a participant in the creative process. The idea of the Memory Night belongs to Irina Apeksimova, who was recently appointed director of the Taganka Theater. She became the producer of the project. He was supported by the Department of Culture of Moscow and the metropolitan museum "House of Vysotsky."
Irina Apeksimova explained that the "Night of Poetry", dedicated to the memory of Vysotsky, brought together a variety of people. It didn’t matter how old they were, what nationality and education they had. The main thing is that they all love and understand the poet’s work. Entrance to the Hermitage was free for all comers that night, and on July 25 many of the participants in the Poetry Night met on Vagankovo, where they brought flowers to the foot of the monument to the Poet.
