Independent Film Festival Esperanza Opens In Moscow Automatic translate
MOSCOW. On May 30, the opening of the Esperanza International Film Festival took place in the Russian capital. The main purpose of the show is to show new independent films to a Russian audience.
The Film Forum of the Newest Independent Cinema opened with a screening of the film-winner of the International Film Festival in Rotterdam "Project of the Century" produced by Germany-Cuba-Argentina. The film directed by Carlos Gwintella tells the story of three generations of Cubans living in the same house in the small town of Huragua, which once promised to become prosperous. But the ambitious plans of the USSR to build a project of the century - a nuclear power plant were never realized in Huragua.
In total, 21 films were included in the program of film festival reviews. Forum participants compete in four competitive programs - films on environmental issues, documentaries, feature films and short films.
Russia at the Esperanza festival is represented by the film "-196" by young director Anna Arlanova. The film tells about a former student of the Physics and Technology Institute, who, by cloning, is trying to give his grandmother a second life.
The ceremony to complete and award the winners of the Esperanza festival will take place on the evening of June 1 in the Great Hall of the Cinema House. The closing picture of the film forum will be the anime saga "Naruto: The Last Movie" directed by Tsuneo Kobayashi, which will appear in the Russian box office only three days after the end of the film festival.
