Kolyada-Plays festival opens with an interactive performance of artists from Perm Automatic translate
YEKATERINBURG. For the ninth time, the Kolyada-Plays festival kicked off in the city, bringing together in its program this year 29 performances staged in theaters in our country and abroad, based on plays by contemporary playwrights. Only on the first day of the festival, the audience was shown the work of three theater groups. Actors from the Center for Contemporary Drama from Yekaterinburg and the Burime Theater, who arrived at the festival from Tyumen, presented their work.
The Tuki-Luki Theater from Perm, with its interactive production of “Oh!”, Met the first spectators of the festival program. Their performance, shown on the street, right near the entrance to the Kolyada Theater, was attended not only by the actors with their dolls, but also by all the spectators who were next to them.
This original theater was born at the Perm Institute of Arts with an experimental course that produced puppeteers. The play, created by Perm artists, tells a story about the future, where the human language is so impoverished that it has only one word left - the exclamation “Oh!”. The Tukey-Luki Theater already has its own Monolog festival, where only solo performances take part.
The hosts of the festival provided one of the halls of their theater for showing a large film program. It involves the work of Ural directors, films, in the filming of which the actors of the Kolyada Theater participated, as well as student work, which became the winners of the Kinoproba festival, held annually in Yekaterinburg.
The participants of the festival are waiting for traditional discussions of performances, and master classes from famous directors. A gift has been prepared for spectators who have not been able to purchase tickets for the performances - nine festival performances can be seen using live online broadcasts. The festival closes on June 29th.
