The main competition program of the festival will include films “Two Women” directed by Vera Glagoleva, “Battalion” Dmitry Miskhiev, “Grandfather of My Dreams” Alexander Strizhenov, “Battle for Sevastopol” by Sergey Mokritsky and other famous films.
This year, in the already traditional program “Cinema Returned by Time”, which includes films that have not been screened for more than twenty years, they will show “Long Ways” directed by Kira Muratova, “Intervention” by Gennady Poloka, “Check on the Roads” by Alexei German and others. Viewers can enjoy the domestic comedies of the 60s, such as “Easy Life” by Veniamin Doran, “Zigzag of Good Luck” by Eldar Ryazanov and “Thirty-Three” by George Danelia. Also, in the framework of out-of-competition programs, films of 2014 will be shown - “9 days and one morning” by Vera Storozheva, “Leviathan” by Andrei Zvyagintsev, “Correction Class” by Ivan Tverdovsky and “Star” by Anna Melikyan.
The films “Young Guard” by Sergei Gerasimov, “Dawns Here Are Quiet” by Stanislav Rostotsky and “My Dear Man” by Joseph Kheifits will be presented within the framework of the special program of the film forum “You are a strong woman, dear Russia”. For the first time this year, children’s films will be shown.
A separate program of the Viva Cinema of Russia! Festival will be dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the famous Russian director Nikita Mikhalkov. Viewers will be presented with his paintings ranging from “Among Among Strangers, A Stranger Among Their Own” (Mikhalkov’s directorial debut, 1974) to the last film to date - “Sunstroke” 2014 release.
The film festival will be closed by showing the premiere film "Memory of Autumn" directed by Andrei Sokolov. Traditionally, admission to all shows will be free.
