MOSCOW. In the shopping center "On Strastnoy", on April 30, the closing ceremony of the festival "Your chance" was held. The program of the international forum, held for the eleventh time, included performances performed by student groups. The main prize of the festival, allowing winners to show their work in the center “On Strastnoy” over the next season, was awarded the performance “Demons”. This production was presented at the festival by the graduation course of the Moscow Art Theater School. The head of the winning student course is Dmitry Brusnikin. Next season, the play “Demons” will appear in the theater poster of the shopping center “On Strastnoy”.
For two festival weeks, viewers saw 17 performances presented by theater schools from different countries. Six thousand spectators got acquainted with the skill of young performers. The director of the festival, Mikhail Pushkin, noted the interest of young artists in classical works. Among the competitive performances, viewers saw productions of the works of Pushkin, Gogol, Chekhov and Dostoevsky.
The competitive jury evaluated not only the acting and directorial work. During the festival, an exhibition of works by the young generation of theater artists was held. At its exposition, scenery and mock-ups of scenes for performances by young scenographers were exhibited. The exhibition was attended by 77 novice stage designers.
Anna Abramova, a student at the Moscow Art Theater School, was recognized as the best stage designer. Her name was called Mark Zakharov, the artistic director of the Lenkom. For the model presented at the exhibition for the production of Madame Butterfly, the artist received a thousand dollars. This amount will be of help to the young stage designer when creating new projects.
