KISHINEV. The documentary film by Russian director Svetlana Strelnikova “Cardiopolitics” won the main prize at the “Chronograph” film festival. Over 300 films fought for victory this year, 49 entered the main competition program.
The film "Cardiopolitics" tells the story of the chief physician of the Perm Federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery Sergei Sukhanov. During his professional career, he has performed more than 15 thousand successful heart surgeries. The most important Sukhanov has always considered human life and health. He alone was able to prove in the Ministry of Health that in the Perm Territory the construction of a modern Cardiocenter is simply necessary. The state allocated a significant amount for the construction of the hospital, but its delivery was delayed all the time. Tired of fighting officials, Sukhanov continues to work in the old hospital, which is already 200 years old. And here, at the end of 2011, he unexpectedly received an invitation from the Kremlin to head the campaign headquarters of Vladimir Putin in the Perm Territory.
At the award ceremony, Svetlana Strelnikova not only received a commemorative figurine, but also a cash prize of 2, 5 thousand euros. The director said that she would spend this money on creating a new tape.
Note that earlier Cardiopolitics has already received a prize for the best full-length documentary at the Message to a Man festival in St. Petersburg and an award for best cinematography at the Moscow International Film Festival.
