"Maestro" - the premiere of the play based on the work of Karel Chapek in the theater. Mayakovsky Automatic translate
MOSCOW. In the theater to them. Mayakovsky made a new acquaintance with world classical literature. Not so long ago, the collective of one of the oldest theaters in the capital, the famous Mayakovka, got another stage space - the Stage on Sretenka. It was here that theater fans came to get acquainted with the new work of director Yuri Ioffe. On April 26, the premiere of the play "Maestro" took place at the branch of the theater on Sretenka.
Its basis was the famous work of the Czech writer Karel Čapek, who created a substantial amount of satirical short stories. Connoisseurs of literature put Chapek’s work on a par with such masters of the genre as Chekhov and O. Henry. A staging of a short story telling about the life of composer Foltyn, who longed for fame in the field of art, but turned out to be a plagiarist, was written by Alexander Shavrin, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.
The main character, having married a wealthy woman, gets the opportunity to plunge into social life - meetings with musicians, crowded balls. Considering himself a talented musician, he dreams of creating his own masterpiece. However, he does not hesitate to use the assigned works of students, passing them off as their works.
As a result, the plagiarist is ruined by his unbridled desire for glory. The performance begins with the news of the death of the Maestro. Then begins the story of the protagonist, built from the memories of people familiar with this person. He looks miserable and narcissistic, but only when his heart does not withstand exposures, people around understand that the Maestro helped to preserve the talented work forgotten by the real author. Maybe he had a light particle of the soul.
It’s hard to single out anyone among the participants in the play. The team works harmoniously, each actor worked out the image of his hero to the smallest detail.
