HONG KONG. March 23, the largest Asian international film and television market FILMART (Hong Kong International Film & TV Market) opened in Hong Kong. Companies from more than 30 countries, including Russia, took part in the forum. At the joint Russian Cinema stand, organized by the Cinema Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the products of 18 domestic companies are presented.
Leading producers and buyers of films, as well as representatives of the film business from around the world, interested in business relations with the Asian side, gathered at a 4-day forum. The event is part of the Entertainment Expo Hong Kong, which will run until April 19th.
Along with the exhibition in Hong Kong, the 39th Hong Kong International Film Festival kicked off. Three Russian films at once took part in the festival - “Angels of Revolution” (2014) by Aleksey Fedorchenko, “White Nights of the Postman Aleksey Tryapitsyn” (2014) by Andrei Konchalovsky and “Star” (2014) by Anna Melikyan. These same films participate in the exhibition and are offered for international sales.
Among the other films of the Russian stand selected for the exhibition is a new adaptation of Boris Vasiliev’s novel “Dawns Here Are Quiet…”, filmed specially for the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory. The picture of the Russian director Renat Davletyarov will be released in Russian on April 30, but negotiations are already underway on its international distribution, the Chinese side has expressed great interest in it.
Also on the stand are the films “Duhless 2” (2015) and “Yolki 1914” (2015) by Roman Prygunov, “Dragon” (2015) Indar Dzhendubaev, “Speculum” (2015) Svyatoslav Podgayevsky, “Battalion” (2015) Dmitry Meskhiev and others.
It is worth noting that on the eve of the international film market in Hong Kong, Russian Film Week was held, which was opened on March 18 by the display of the epic military film "Stalingrad" directed by Fyodor Bondarchuk.
