ST. PETERSBURG. The round-table meeting launched the event, which opened at the Alexandrinsky Theater on January 5, the drama festival "New Play for Children". Playwrights and educators, directors and theater experts with experience working on works for the younger generation were invited to participate in this conversation. Many of the authors are well known - Yuri Klavdiev and Pavel Pryazhko, Maxim Kurochkin and Yana Tumin. The round table was also attended by Georgy Isahakyan, artistic director of the Theater after N. Sats.

The main goal of the festival is to familiarize viewers with works written by modern authors especially for young viewers. Acquaintance will take place in the form of readings, and then, during a meeting with the authors of the plays, a discussion of their contents will take place. For the events of the first drama festival for children, the Alexandrinsky Theater provided its New Stage.

Preparations for festival meetings began in September, when the competition was announced. As a result, 195 dramatic works were sent to the festival. For public readings, the jury selected only 7 plays. In addition to them, plays by famous authors will be read - Pryazhko, Klavdieva, Kurochkin. Their work does not participate in the competition, but there will be meetings with the authors

On the first day, the audience was presented the play "Anne Frank", written by Asya Voloshina. Her work became the first participant in the competition program. After its completion, the work “Chicken with Big Eyes”, written by Pavel Pryazhko, was performed.

The next day will be more eventful. Spectators will be presented with three entries and one out of competition. Readings of four works are planned for the last day, one of which, written by Maxim Kurochkin, the play “Childhood Out of Time”, is not involved in the competition.
