MOSCOW. The Tale of the Nutcracker causes everyone to associate with the New Year holidays, Merry Christmas, that is, a time when all your dreams come true. At the Lenkom Theater, they gave the audience a wonderful gift - they invited them to get acquainted with their new work, the performance The Nutcracker. This fabulous story, invented by Hoffmann, in Lenkom slightly changed its content.
As in the classical reading of the production, the New Year mood reigns in it, miracles occur, familiar music sounds, written by the legendary Tchaikovsky. Only now the main characters have now become adults, however, retaining in their hearts faith in a fairy tale, love and miracles. They are still capable, having seen unusual events on New Year’s Eve, set off in pursuit of happiness.
The age change in the heroes of The Nutcracker occurred at the behest of the directors. They decided to make the New Year’s fairy tale interesting for both children and adults. The artist of the play, Yulia Mikheeva, came up with a bright, festive stage design, beautiful costumes. The main surprise for the audience was the special effects used in the production.
The appearance on the scene of the Nutcracker and the Mouse King was helped by computer technology. The play used the shadow theater, sand animation and other director’s ideas. There are so many unusual things on the stage that the grown children systematically turn to the audience with the question - is what is happening next to them the truth, or is it miracles.
By tradition, a miracle really happened, only for this it was necessary to wait for the end of the performance. The ugly Nutcracker becomes a handsome prince, and the matured Marie marries him. The main characters are Alla Yuganova and Victor Rakov. The theater’s orchestra and the soloists of the “Araks” ensemble are engaged in the performance.
