MOSCOW. Artists of the famous puppet theater under the direction of Rezo Gabriadze on January 30 showed the first performance from the program of a two-week tour in the capital. All tour performances will take place on the stage of the shopping center “On Strastnoy”. The tour opened with the premiere performance “The Diamond of Marshal de Fonier”.

Although this performance is premiere, its plot is familiar to the oldest fans of Rezo Gabriadze’s work. Many years ago, it was a decoration of the repertoire of the theater. Now the director has again returned to this wonderful production, significantly updating it. He supplemented the performance with new scenes, updated dolls and scenery.

The plot of the play is dedicated to the journey of the general, the Georgian prince, who went for a solid inheritance from Tbilisi to the French capital. The journey of the prince and his friends is full of adventures, but most importantly - during a trip to Paris, the prince met with his first love. The events taking place in the play are complemented by the wonderful music of Victor Dolidze. This Georgian composer lived in the early twentieth century. Sound in the performance and Georgian folk songs.

Metropolitan spectators and familiar performances will see. Georgian artists included in the tour program such productions as “Autumn of My Spring”, “Ramona” and “Stalingrad”. In Moscow, Rezo Gabriadze’s performances will end on February 15 with the performance of Ramona, and on March 4, artists are expected in St. Petersburg. The director himself could not come to Moscow - there were health problems, but he hopes that the public will like the work of the theater.

With the performances planned for the capital’s shows, the theater opens a large tour tour, which includes trips to cities in Russian regions. The route and dates of the tour are being negotiated.
