Debut movie festival opens in Moscow Automatic translate
MOSCOW. Yesterday, December 18, screenings were launched in a number of Moscow cinemas as part of the debut film festival of short films. For the eighth time, the Moscow Cinema chain of cinemas, together with the Moscow City Department of Culture, is organizing the Moscow International Debut Film Festival, where aspiring filmmakers show the audience a relevant section of the Russian and world short films in the context of contemporary culture.
According to the organizers of the project, the debut film festival is held for beginners and is their first step towards the professional industry. As part of the competition program, free debut shows were organized where they can showcase their work; in the framework of out-of-competition screenings - to get acquainted with short films from around the world and see the best short-film films of this year.
Six films in the genre of documentary, animation and feature films take part in the competition program of the festival. These are the paintings “Rebalda” (dir. Elena Otrepyeva), “Hunters” (dir. Maxim Arbugaev), “Somewhere in the steppe” (dir. Tatyana Zhukova), “Polina” (dir. Ekaterina Tsvigun), “To Live Differently” (dir. Ksenia Argudaeva) and the film "Dad, hello…" (dir. Natalia Kononenko). This year the competition program was formed by the vice president of the Guild of Non-Fiction Films and Television Nikita Tikhonov-Rau. During the festival days, open discussions will be held with the participation of festival curators and filmmakers.
Impressions will run until December 23, 2014. All the events of the Debut Cinema festival are free to attend, they are held in the Moscow Cinema network of cinemas: Fakel (metro Aviamotornaya), Cosmos (metro VDNKh), Zvezda (metro Kurskaya), Saturn "(Metro Sviblovo).
